These are a series of portraits that I did of Leigh Bowery for an art in architecture project. For those who are unfamiliar with Bowery, in title, he is a fashion designer, club promoter, and performance artist. He creates giant, extravagant, sculptural costumes and models them on himself at night clubs. I did these experimental, digital paintings in remembrance of Bowery, in a style that plays off the sculptural/grand personality of the late designer. The last image is a mock environmental display of club event celebrating the life and work of Bowery.
